There are resources to support our pupils and families.
Yesterday, St John’s took part in an Inter House Competition Morning.
Y5 and Y6 successfully completed a Rounders Tournament on our school field, Y3 and Y4 braved the elements for Athletics and Key Stage 1 took part in Benchball and Dodgeball matches coached by Mr Leather and the KS1 Team.
Take a look at some of our photos from our morning; results to be shared soon!
Year 1 and Year 6 went to Crompton Lodges on Friday 13th May and had a lovely time. We walked in mixed partners and the Year 6 children were very responsible and told us lots of lovely things along the way.
When we got there, we looked at different plants and animals and we even saw some goslings (baby geese!) then we played on the park and we were very kind to other children letting them go in front of us, pushing each other on the swings and helping each other with the trickier climbing frames!
Lastly, we played a very silly game of Horses and Jockeys with Miss Howard and Miss Davies and then we made the (very long!) walk back. We had lovely weather all morning and all had a fantastic time. Next week we will be writing a letter to Miss Magill to thank her for letting us have such a lovely treat. Please leave us a comment on our photos!
As we head towards Easter, Year 5 were invited across Church Road to a special Easter celebration put on for us by the parishioners of St John’s Church. The children were involved in celebrating various aspects of the most important event in the Christian calendar.
We discussed all the aspects of Easter. We have put together a collage of all the pictures we took.
Year 5’s reaction were also recorded in our class portfolio.
Year 4 and the school choir preparing for their trip to The Victoria Hall – Singing a specially written ‘Greater Manchester’ song.
To see the full and finished performance, visit The Victoria Hall’s website to get tickets – Tuesday 8th March. All parents welcome!
The pupils used different design software to produce a piece a symmetrical art that we could use as a logo – Representing the two schools coming together.
They all had 5 minutes to do any last research on their counterpart’s school then…DESIGN AND CREATE!!
We’ve had a superb response to homework once again this half term.
Here are a selection of Key Stage 2 models and the children’s awards.
It’s going to be hard to beat next term… But I’m sure the children are up to the challenge!!
Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
